Quilting a Quiltworx Quilt with CS7

As a Quiltworx Certified Instructor and Gammill Statler educator and user myself, the most common questions I get from other Statler users revolve around how to custom quilt one of Judy's quilts. Everything from how to load, where to find the best patters, should you stitch in the ditch, which thread to use, should you turn the tie offs off, ruler work and more. Then there is the business side of things, primarily how much to charge for quilting one of these quilts. If you have those same questions, then this course is just for you! Join me as I quilt the  2025 Quiltworx Technique of the Month Jungle Magnolia during this course.

The course will be divided into 6 teaching sessions which will all be uploaded for viewing by registered attendees beginning May 1, 2025 following the first session will be LIVE via Zoom and will include a Q&A for participants.

Watch recorded classes at your own pace in your own studio along with two live classes and Q&A at the beginning and end of the course.

May 6, 2025 - Session 1 (LIVE)- The Devil Really is in the Details, we will discuss where to find and purchase sets designed specifically for Quiltworx patterns, understanding how to identify the distinct "units" in a Quiltworx pattern so you can mix and match patterns to your liking, installing patterns from third parties and organizing them in CS7 so they are easily accessed, plus best practices for loading, tips for best results as well as batting and thread choices.

May 13, 2025 - Session 2 - To Ditch or Not to Ditch

This classes will cover the whys and hows of stitching in the ditch.

May 20, 2025 - Session 3 - Where Do I Start?

In this class I'll cover options for where to start; in the middle at the top, drawing boundaries, dealing with shrinkage, adjusting patterns to fit and fine tuning the patterns using nodes.

May 27, 2025 - Session 4 - Quilt Smart

In this class you will learn how to use CS7 features such as flipping verticle and horizontal on your Quiltworx quilt, the benefits of rubber stamping and copy/paste and connecting the dots to make the best use of your quiltable space.

June 3, 2025 - Session 5 - Filling the Gaps

Learn how to use patterns which the designer has designed to use with the CS7 Fill feature and how to get the Best of Both Worlds with basic hand guided fills. I'll also be covering applique' treatments.

June 17, 2025 - Session 6 (LIVE) - The Business of Quilting Quiltworx Quilts for Customers

The final session will be Live and we will discuss how much to charge, keeping track of your time, should you charge for the patterns and more.

That's 6 sessions - two of which are Live with open discussion available. Therefore space is limited to ensure ample time for everyone to ask questions. 

Note: If you choose the three installment option, an invoice will be sent April 1, 2025 and May 1, 2025 for the remaining payments.

Online class registrations are non-refundable however they may be credited towards a future class to be taken within 1 year.
