VidaAnn has been crafting since she was a teen making her first cross stitch piece at age 14. She inherited her creative gifts and love of making from her mother and her grandmother. Over the years she took an interest in lots of creative endeavors including cross stitch, rubber stamping, tole painting, knitting and sewing. She didn't begin sewing seriously until her husband, Shane, encouraged her to and as they say, the rest is history. That encouragement has turned into a shared passion as Shane became enamored with vintage sewing machines and began teaching himself to service and restore sewing machines he found while thrifting.
COVID-19 changed so much for all of us. For most of 2020 we spent our days making and shipping masks all over the United States, more than 18,000 at last count. Our group on Facebook, Crafters Against COVID-19 Missoula, donated over 7,000 masks to local groups.
As things begin to get back to normal, we are excited to branch out with new offerings with Sew Fly Quilts and Sew Fly Sewing Machines. We now have class space for workshops and lessons and can accommodate 4 happy sewists. We offer quilt and project kits complete with patterns and available tutorials on YouTube. In-person classes have resumed and VidaAnn will begin offering and teaching paper piecing classes in the tradition of Judy Niemeyer this fall.
And we are very excited to announce we have joined the Gammill Family. From computerized edge-to-edge with custom borders to fully customized free motion, we can help you create the quilt you envisioned when you started piecing. We will also be offering long arm rentals on a limited basis including lessons on how to long arm quilt.
