Handmade = LOVE
When buying from a MAKER, you're buying more than just an object. You're buying hundreds of hours of failures and experimentation. You're buying hours, days, weeks and months of pure joy.
COVID-19 has changed so much for all of us. For me, it means I am focused right now on making and shipping masks all over the United States. For now I've cancelled classes and summer camps, but look forward to having students in my studio as soon as it is safe for everyone. In the meantime, I'm happy to be filling the need for masks.
WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING ABOUT OUR MASKS
From JR - Missoula, Montana - June 15, 2020 - The Best Mask I’ve Found, Beautifully Constructed
"Having been frustrated in the past waiting for masks to arrive from faraway places, I was so pleased to find this supplier of handmade high-quality masks in Missoula, Montana! This mask is a marvel. I am not a large person but have had trouble in the past finding a lined, well-made fabric mask of reasonably generous proportions capable of holding a filter and/or another medical mask tucked away underneath, securely. This one does the job. It is also nicely adjustable to suit different face and head sizes, unlike most masks I've encountered: there are three generous pleats on both back and front surfaces AND a pocket nicely positioned and hidden away within the back-pleated area. The mask can expand to roughly 7 inches from top to bottom, fitting right under the chin and over the nose, making a good seal. The width across the face is 8 inches. The elastic strap is a soft, fabric-elastic, stronger and more comfortable than the white rubber that is normally found on a commercial mask (3M, etc). It is fully adjustable. The seams on the mask are all finished nicely, and the fabric itself is both high quality and artistically appealing in its patterns, with numerous designs from which to chose. I bought four masks for family members and friends; all are delightful, but the one made from batik material is particularly lovely. The batik is tightly woven and available in many subtle colors and intriguing prints. Each mask is ironed and packaged nicely (and even sanitized prior to being sent), making it suitable for gifting to others. I purchased a washable filter for each mask; these are made of a very soft, thin material that seems appropriate dense. Importantly, I found that these filters are capable of blocking the light of a lamp positioned close by, a test of a good, tight filter weave. I have not tried to wash one yet, but with care and air-drying, I imagine the filter should last some time. The masks I ordered in the evening one day arrived in the mail just two days later. I am so pleased to have found a reliable source of high-quality masks and washable filters right here in Missoula and hope to purchase additional masks for friends living overseas. Thank you!"
