Big Sky Divas Quilt Pattern
Originally I designed this quilt to use all the fabrics from the Lipstick Cowgirl fabric collection by Shari Jenkins for Moda Fabrics. However, due to COVID, shipping and inventory issues arose and I had to alter the pattern to use available fabrics in the local shop which commissioned the design.
This pattern will not only include the original fabric selection yardages, but also a Swatch Chart you can use to convert this pattern for available fabrics in your local shop or for use with any other panel using 10" blocks.
When Kate McIvor at The Confident Stitch asked me to design a quilt for this collection I was excited. When I found out Shari is from Montana, then I was thrilled! Sheri was raised on a ranch near the Bear Paw Mountains southeast of Big Sandy, Montana. Shari's love of cowgirls is a prevalent theme in her work, as is her great appreciation of Western history… and her often times unconventional sense of humor. Each piece of her art contains a message for the viewer, sometimes rather obvious – and sometimes not! Visit her website to learn the names of the pieces featured in the Lipstick Cowgirl panel...I think you will get a real kick out of them!

About the Artist:
Shari is “a self-taught artist with a good eye.” Her journey to create has taken some interesting twists and turns. Combining her collection of antique photos with vintage ephemera, buttons, flowers, leaves, barbed wire, fabric, bullets, maps, doorknobs (you name it, she’s scanned it!), Shari began digitally formatting collage art designs, many of which have more than 100 elements or layers! This was particularly appealing to me because I too love creating multi layered digital designs in my digital scrapbooking.
