Prism Table Runner - Foundation Paper Piecing Class
Foundation Paper Piecing involves the use of papers to guide you in your cutting, organization, and piecing process. It’s primary advantages are precision and simplicity. In this class, VidaAnn will teach you how to prepare your fabric, the pattern pieces as well as all the necessary techniques for completing the project in the Judy Niemeyer tradition.
The Prism Table Runner is a design inspired by an idea by Certified Instructor, Joanne Wearing, hoping for a table runner workshop that utilized the Prismatic Star block, which would be available for a one day workshop. This pattern is the result. If this is the first time you’ve done a Quiltworx pattern, you will learn foundation paper strip piecing techniques for lone star diamonds and also striped borders along with the use of cutting templates, smart corners, and TRP lines.
This will be a weekend workshop where VidaAnn will take you step-by-step through the process of prepping everything as well as through all the techniques. The Saturday and Sunday workshop will be from 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM each day and depending on the sewing skill level of participants, you may or may not complete the project. However, you will have learned all the techniques necessary to complete it on your own.
A complete KIT is included for this workshop. Kit includes Prism Table Runner pattern and all foundation papers and fabrics (including binding). A supply list of other items needed for the class will be emailed upon reserving your spot. Our workshop space is set up with ample room for you to bring your own sewing machine. If you do not have a machine, please contact us about our loaner program.
A light lunch is also provided as well as coffee, tea and water. If you have special dietary needs, please let us know.
