Fractured Paint Box - Foundation Paper Piecing Class
Foundation Paper Piecing involves the use of papers to guide you in your cutting, organization, and piecing process. It’s primary advantages are precision and simplicity. In this class, VidaAnn will teach you how to prepare your fabric, the pattern pieces as well as all the necessary techniques for completing the project in the Judy Niemeyer tradition.
The Fractured Paint Box was designed as a beginner pattern to introduce quilters to paper piecing! The project is fast, uses only one foundation block, employs simple cutting techniques, and is an affordable and fun way to jump into your first paper piecing project! It is meant to make those new to the process find confidence, understanding, and success! This pattern works with the Quiltworx.com 2-1/2″ Strip Sets, which have 48 strips instead of 40. This strip set makes the 3 x 4 layout of “paint boxes” shown on the cover.
This will be a one day workshop where VidaAnn will take you step-by-step through the process of prepping everything as well as through all the techniques including organizing your fabrics and pattern. The workshop will be from 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM and depending on the sewing skill level of participants, you may or may not complete your first block. However, you will have learned all the techniques necessary to complete it on your own. A light lunch is also provided as well as coffee, tea and water. If you have special dietary needs, please let us know.
Pattern Size: 60″ x 77″
Reserve your seat today! The workshop fee is $150. You will also need to purchase the pattern, fabric and paper piecing supplies separately. All class attendees will receive a 20% discount code toward the purchase of our Paper Piecing Starter Kit.
And did I mention you don't even have to bring a sewing machine? That's right, my classroom includes a Bernina 335 for you to sew on and all you have to do is bring your fabric.
*Workshops are non-refundable, but if for some unforeseen reason you must cancel, it can be applied to a future workshop.
