Our new Batik Collection is comprised of masks made using batik fabrics. What is a batik fabric? Batik is an ancient art that has been practiced for 2,000 years in southeast Asia. This complex dyeing process creates beautiful, intricate designs that are unique to the region they come from or tell a story. The process uses dye-resistant wax to create elaborate patterns and designs, and the wax is then washed to reveal the batik pattern or the process is repeated to create multiple colors.
The batik process has repeated washings and the fabric is shrinking with the washings, so a higher thread count will have less shrinkage. Think of very high end sheets for the bed, 200 thread count. That's what you get with a batik.
Our batik face masks are WASHABLE and each contain a pocket where you can place a filter of your choice. It is also possible to slide an N95 inside the pocket of the adult masks to prolong the life of an N95.
